Dissertation Title: 'Continuing to Paint: 'Transitive Painting' and Escaping Painting's Dead End'
Evie is a painter interested in contemporary concerns of 'scape' and the history of landscape painting. She uses raw watercolour to combine terrestrial familiarity with our increasing comprehension of the cosmos, combining indexical and erasive brushwork to produce ambiguous, sensual works that evoke the mystery of earth and unknowable places. Her works hark back to romantic and expressive painting whilst leaning forward into the advancements of global mapping and space exploration.
Evie lives in her favourite city, Bath, England.
